Three years ago, when they met, John and Katia embarked on an journey that would take them all the way from Colorado to Puerto Hermina in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico. On Christmas Eve 2012, Katia and John got engaged and shared meaningful objects that symbolized their love for each other. Katia gave John a painting of a tree from her friend Ana Sellas. The tree trunk roots symbolizing the roots they are creating with one another and their gorgeous pups, and the freedom of the branches. John surprised Katia with bracelets that also carried meaning of things they loved.
In May they had their wedding here in Puerto Rico, where Katia is from. A wedding filled with smiles, love and laughter. It was an event as unique as they are! There were so many cute elements of nature carried out trough out the decoration, giving it a rustic vibe; from the seagrape leaves used as fans to the “ditas” made from the fruit of Higuera trees. I have to give it Lirios, Katia’s mom, how did an amazing job coordinating and decorating.
Katia and John, thank you so much for sharing with me the warmth and love of your families. It was a true honor to be part of your wedding! May life bring you all but the best, and the greatest happiness and joy.
