Social distancing and the Coronavirus outbreak have many couples evaluating if they should or should not continue with their dreamed destination wedding planning. The pandemic has definitely shift priorities and has hindered couples ideas and expectations of what their wedding day is going to look like. With this new reality, after everything is settled back to “normal”, if you still are planning on going abroad considering an intimate wedding instead of a big event has its many benefits.
01 Easier to save money
It is not a secret that weddings are expensive. One way to save money is to cut down on the guest list and stick to close family and friends. An intimate destination wedding allows for that. Destinations like Puerto Rico are a great option for couples traveling from the US. It’s usually an easy flight and there’s no passport needed since PR is an US territory. If you compare cost of having your wedding in Puerto Rico to cost of having a wedding in many US States you will be able to save a lot of money.
02 More manageable
Having to handle less amount of guest will make your wedding more manageable. I’m not saying you do not need a wedding planner. I do recommend all my couples to hire a wedding planner to make sure your day turns out as you plan it. But, they day itself will flow easier with less people to coordinate.
03 More Venue Options
When you plan for a large wedding your venue options get limited to its capacity. By having an Intimate wedding more venues are going to be able to accommodate your needs. Also, you are going to be able to find a venue that works for your budget.
04 Easier to have a plan B
If there’s one thing this pandemic has shown us is to prepare for the unexpected and always have a plan B. If your wedding is smaller it will be easier to accommodate for a plan B.
05 Less stress
Having an intimate wedding means you will have less people to cater to. This translates to less stress because this type of event presents easier planning, dining and entertainment.
After this pandemic gatherings are not going to be the same and we should focus on the positive and how to be smart about it. Let’s try and look at the glass half full.
