If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding in Puerto Rico surrounded by tropical gardens, Caribbean views, and an easygoing resort atmosphere, Copamarina Beach Resort & Spa is one of the places I always think of.
Located on Puerto Rico’s southwest coast in Guánica, Copamarina offers something different from a wedding in San Juan. Here, the landscape becomes part of the experience: lush gardens, ocean views, sandy beaches, and beautiful Caribbean sunsets all within the same property.
And as a wedding photographer, that variety is one of my favorite things about photographing weddings here.

Why Get Married at Copamarina?
One of the biggest advantages of a Copamarina Beach Resort wedding is that your wedding can feel like a true destination experience for everyone.
Your guests can stay at the resort, spend time together before the wedding, enjoy the beach, and celebrate with you without constantly traveling between different locations.
It also gives you plenty of options for the wedding itself, from intimate celebrations to larger gatherings. Copamarina currently offers several indoor and outdoor event spaces, including gardens, ocean-view gazebos, and spaces designed for smaller weddings.
But for me, the best part is lo que sucede once we start taking photographs.

The Best Part: The Variety of Your Wedding Photos
A great wedding gallery shouldn’t look like the same photograph repeated 100 times.
At Copamarina, we can move through completely different environments without leaving the property.
The gardens give us lush, intimate portraits surrounded by tropical greenery.

The beach gives us those wide Caribbean photographs that immediately tell you where you were married.

The resort’s architecture and covered spaces give us somewhere to go when the sun is strong—or when a tropical shower rolls through.
And then there’s sunset.

The southwestern coast gives us beautiful late-day light, but sunset portraits don’t happen by accident. If they’re important to you, we build them into the wedding timeline so you can step away for a few minutes without missing your reception.
What If It Rains?
It’s Puerto Rico. Sometimes it rains.
Y eso está bien.
I don’t believe rain should automatically mean abandoning your portraits. We can move between gardens, covered spaces, architecture, and the beach as the weather changes.
Sometimes the clouds even create better photographs than a perfectly clear sky.
The goal isn’t to pretend the weather didn’t happen. It’s to make photographs that feel like your actual wedding in Puerto Rico.
Copamarina Is More Than a Beach Wedding
One of my favorite things about photographing weddings here is seeing how differently couples make the space their own. I’ve photographed traditional celebrations, intimate micro weddings, LGBTQ+ weddings, and weddings incorporating Puerto Rican food and cultural traditions.
The resort provides the setting.
You decide what the wedding feels like.
That’s what I want your photographs to capture, not a generic “tropical wedding,” but the people, personality, and story that made your celebration yours.

Planning a Copamarina Beach Resort Wedding?
If you’re considering Copamarina for your destination wedding, I’d love to photograph it. I’ve photographed weddings throughout Puerto Rico, including celebrations at Copamarina, and my approach is centered around honest moments, beautiful light, and portraits that still feel like you. I invite you to view my recent work to picture what your own day could look like through my lens.
You don’t need to spend your entire wedding day posing for photographs. You need someone who knows when to step in, when to give you direction, and when to simply let the moment happen.
Your wedding should feel like a wedding, not a photo shoot.
