A Quiet Day to Let It All Sink In with A San Cristóbal Fort After-Wedding Session
The wedding day goes by fast. That’s why I love when couples carve out time after the celebration for portraits that feel relaxed, joyful, and completely them. The day after their Museo Casa Blanca wedding, we headed for their San Cristóbal Fort after-wedding photo session that felt like pure Caribbean magic.
Missed their ceremony? It was filled with emotion, coconuts, and even a Yorkie in a wedding dress. You can see the full Museo Casa Blanca wedding here.
Why San Cristóbal Fort Is a Dream for Wedding Portraits
Part of the larger El Morro fortress system, San Cristóbal Fort has its own energy—wide open, breezy, and full of texture. It’s usually quieter in the mornings and offers panoramic views of the ocean, the city walls, and the rooftops of Old San Juan. If you’re looking for portraits that mix history with natural drama, this is it.
We lucked out with clear skies and all the space we needed to play. The couple walked through old stone corridors, peeked into the arched tunnels, and soaked in the views together—no rush, just joy. We even had time to explore the colorful streets just outside the fort, which added even more character to their gallery.
Cowboy Hat, Windswept Veil & Stone Archways
This session was all about personal style and just having fun. The groom rocked his cowboy hat again (a standout detail from the day before), while the bride kept things breezy with loose waves and a fresh glow. We wandered through San Cristóbal’s tunnels, paused for kisses in the archways, and let the moment lead us.
One of my favorite parts? Their spontaneous piggyback ride and their silly “piggy face” moment mid-laugh. Add in a few twirls, soft light, and that textured stone backdrop—and suddenly, we had everything from candid giggles to editorial drama, all in one session.
Why Add an After-Wedding Session?
Adding an after-wedding session to your Puerto Rico destination wedding gives you:
- More time for portraits without the wedding day timeline
- The chance to explore a second location, like Old San Juan’s forts
- Photos that feel relaxed, fun, and uniquely you
- Another excuse to wear the dress again (and really, who doesn’t want that?)
Their Museo Casa Blanca wedding was filled with family and intimate moments. This session? It was pure freedom—wind in their hair, sun on their faces, and joy written all over them.
