There’s no reason why you shouldn’t have beautiful wedding pictures even if your reception venue is small and might not have too many options on its surroundings for your dreamed couple pictures. The important thing is to plan ahead and work with a schedule.
Here are some tips that might help you get the pictures of your dreams.
Find a beautiful hotel for your getting ready images
The getting ready is one of the most important parts of the wedding. At this moment the emotion is raw and the nerves are high. There are so many unexpected moments that happen during this time. This is a great moment to get your portraits with your bridesmaids and do your beautiful individual portraits. Once the images are delivered you will get to share how flawless you looked!Do a First Look
If you are not a traditional couple I highly recommend doing a first look. This way you can use that beautiful hotel you are staying at for your couple pictures and even include your bridal party if you feel like it. This way if your venue is small or doesn’t have the beautiful surroundings you imagine for your wedding images you can get those before the ceremony. Less stress and more fun is always the way to go.Plan on getting back to the hotel or stop at a location you love
If you decide a first look it’s not for you, you can always go back to the hotel or plan to stop at a location you love before reaching the reception venue.Make sure to have enough sunlight
If you plan to stop at the hotel or at a location you love, make sure to leave enough time after the ceremony with sunlight. I adore the look of natural light, and if you do as well, this is a must for beautiful pictures. Depending on your wedding location you will have more or less time after sunset. If your wedding takes place in Puerto Rico, remember there’s no twilight. Thus, you have to plan with more anticipation since there’s less time with available light after sunset.Make a plan with your photographer
Make sure you connect with your photographer. It’s important that your wedding planner and photographer work hand in hand to make this schedule possible. Not all photographers work the same, thus the time we need to make all this happen might vary. Good team communication leads to amazing results. 😉 Patricia and Cole’s wedding in San Juan Puerto Rico at Club Náutico is a great example of good planing. We had enough time to go back to the hotel Vanderbilt for beautiful images after the ceremony. They didn’t have a first look, but they did get a little time to pray together before saying I do. I hope you like it as much as I did.
