Casa de España is one of the most beautiful wedding venues at Old San Juan. The building dates back to 1934 and it is designed in a Moorish Revival style. One of the highlights of the venue is the Andalusian Patio. This large open space has seen thousands of weddings and the pictures captured there are a testament to its magnificence.
If you have chosen Casa de España as your wedding venue, there are a few things to consider to have the most amazing wedding in Puerto Rico:
Consider The rooftop add on
This is a great option for your couple’s pictures and for pictures with your wedding party. I actually love when we have this added option for pictures!
Parking can be tough at Old San Juan
The best way for your guest to get there is Uber or Taxi. But, if you have a big group at one of the hotels in the area you can shuttle them to the venue.
You should plan your getting ready location close to Casa de España
And even better if it can be at Old San Juan. Specially if you are planning to do a first look. Staying at Old San Juan works out great since we can take advantage of the colonial beauty of the streets and buildings.
Check sunset tables to work with the best light possible
I can’t stress this enough. There’s no twilight in Puerto Rico, thus after the sun sets we have very little time for daylight pictures. In the other hand, too far apart from sunset and closer to midday, the sun will be harsh and bright, because of our proximity to the Ecuator.
Walking distance to the Perfect Backdrops For First looks
We can walk the streets of Old San Juan and find the perfect nook for your first look. There are many charming options. But, you can also get a permit to visit El Morro or The San Cristobal fort for pictures before the ceremony.
Casa de España can be super-hot during summer months
You can keep your guest cool hiring fans to keep the area temperature down. But you can also plan for cool refreshments like paletas or piraguas. This time of the year is not optimal for long ceremonies at the Patio Andaluz.
You can plan for a nightscape for pictures in front of the venue.
The nighttime look of Casa de España is stunning also. The fountain looks it’s best at night!
